Maruwai Coal trains Murung Raya teachers to develop project-based learning

Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - PT Maruwai coal (Alamtri Minerals Indonesia) in collaboration with Kuark Internasional provided training and mentoring for public and islamic elementary school (SD/MI) teachers in Murung Raya, Central Kalimantan, to improve basic learning quality through contextual and meaningful project approach.Program Manager of Kuark Internasional Randy Fananta expounded that the project-based learning not only produces work, but encourages students to think critically and find solutions to real-world problems in their environment.“We want teachers to understand that project is an active learning process that provides space for students to solve real-world problems,” he said in a statement released by Amanah Bangun Negeri Foundation (YABN) in Tabalong, South Kalimantan, Thursday.The training titled Strategies for Implementing Deep Learning through conscious, Meaningful and Enjoyable Projects" was the third and final session of a series of teacher capacity development program in 15 schools in this area.Read also: PT Maruwai coal distributes 1,553 student packages in Murung RayaIt was held in two batches. The first on July 18–19, 2025 at SDN Muara Tuhup 2, attended by participants from nine schools in Laung Tuhup and Barito Tuhup Raya sub-districts. The second on July 21–22, 2025 at MIN 2 Murung Raya, attended six SD/MI.Randy added that the training was designed interactively through simulation, team discussion, and project design based on local issues relevant to students' lives.Head of Islamic Education of the Murung Raya Religious Affairs Ministry Office (Kemenag) Hj Nina Narly expressed her appreciation and hoped all teachers could implement the project designed learning.
