PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk (MDKA)’s subsidiary, PT Merdeka Gold Resources Tbk (EMAS), is targeting the ore preparation plant (OPP) at the Pani gold mine to begin operations in November 2025.In line with that operational target, the company is also aiming to commence the first stacking process. The facility will function to process and size down run-of-mine ore before it is stacked.Previously, construction of the ore preparation plant was completed on October 14, 2025, followed by the commissioning phase. “Commissioning will continue with first stacking in November and a first gold pour in early 2026,” said Merdeka Gold Resources President Director, Boyke Abidin, in an official statement, Monday (Oct 20).Stacking is the placement of ore onto a heap leach pad to enable the gold extraction process.Based on the latest technical study, the Pani gold mine’s ore reserves have increased to 4.8 million ounces from a mineral resource estimate exceeding 7 million ounces, making it one of the largest primary gold deposits in Indonesia.The project is reported to have a processing capacity of up to 19 million tons of ore per year. The initial phase uses a heap leach method with capacity of 7 million tons per year, with first mining on October 1, 2025 and first gold production targeted for the first quarter of 2026. Next, MGR will build a carbon-in-leach (CIL) facility with an initial capacity of 7.5 million tons per year, expanding to 12 million tons per year by 2030.As the operator of the Pani gold mine, Merdeka Gold Resources is committed to sustainable performance based on good mining practices.The company also remains committed to delivering positive contributions to the economy of Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo Province, as well as nationally.
