This is because every mining company integrated into MIND ID implements environmentally friendly business practices.He mentioned that environmental sustainability efforts are a business strategy that demonstrates added value for MIND ID. Therefore, he hopes that MIND ID's management can continue sustainable business practices while setting a good example in the mining industry."The framework for mining activities carried out by MIND ID is already much better than other general mining operations. I have been directly to the field. I have been to Freeport, I have been to Vale, I have been to Antam, but of course, some things still need to be improved," he stated at the MINDIALOGUE event, quoted on Monday (September 1, 2025).Hanif continued that MIND ID has proven to conduct sustainable mining in various operational areas. For example, one of MIND ID's affiliated companies, PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (INCO), has actively undertaken environmental rehabilitation in its operational area in Sulawesi.Vale Indonesia is also considered to consistently adjust its environmental capacity to the nickel production capabilities that the company can generate."It (Vale Indonesia) always invests that much, even if its production increases or hasn't even started production," he said.The Ministry of Environment also appreciates the environmental rehabilitation efforts undertaken by PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI). These environmental rehabilitation efforts are not easy, considering that the Grasberg Mine area in Papua, managed by PTFI, is located at an altitude of 4,500 meters above sea level with extreme weather conditions.There, PTFI carries out planting of shrubs to restore natural vegetation in the Grasberg Mine area at a significant cost.
