PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), a member of the MIND ID mining holding, delivered solid operational performance through the third quarter of 2025 amid global market volatility.This strong performance is reflected in PTBA’s coal production volume, which reached 35.90 million tons by the end of September 2025—up 9 percent from the same period in 2024, which was 32.97 million tons.PTBA Corporate Secretary Division Head, Eko Prayitno, said the production achievement was also driven by increased contributions from the company’s mining services subsidiary, PT Satria Bahana Sarana.The subsidiary contributed 21 percent of the company’s total production, with a stripping ratio realized at 5.98 times for the period.“On the coal sales side, volume reached 33.70 million tons, an 8 percent year-on-year (yoy) increase from 31.28 million tons in the same period last year,” Eko said in an official statement in Jakarta, October 20, 2025.Of the coal sales, 56 percent was absorbed by the domestic market, with the remainder destined for export. This improvement in sales performance indicates that market demand for PTBA’s coal remains solid.In line with the increase in production and sales, coal transportation volume reached 30.02 million tons as of the third quarter of 2025, up 8 percent from 27.83 million tons in the same period the previous year.“This increase was supported by supply chain optimization as well as strengthened coordination and efficiency in the logistics sector,” he added.The momentum of global coal price recovery has also begun to emerge, as seen in the strengthening of the ICI index from mid–Q3 to early Q4 2025.With that momentum, coupled with sustained performance growth and ongoing efficiency efforts, PTBA is optimistic that this solid operational achievement can mitigate the pressure from coal price weakness during Q3 2025, while laying a positive foundation for improved financial performance through year-end.
