Uboard – User Guide

How do I Login and access superset ?

Access Through Teman Indobara 

UThis Uboard can also be accessed from the website of Teman Indobara by accessing TEMAN INDOBARA - Terukur Aman (borneo-indobara.com) using then company’s email username and password (sinarmasmining.com/borneo-indobara.com). Here is what the Login page of Teman Indobara looks like:


 

After successfully logging in, by default the user will enter the main menu page. The display after successful login as follows:

On the main page of the Teman Indobara application, users can select the Uboard menu on the left side of the main page and after that there is a selection of sub menus from the UBoard menu, here is the appearance of the Uboard menu and its sub menus as follows:


 

After the user chooses from the sub menu, it will create a new tab and go to the UBoard page based on the sub menu selected by the user. The display after the user selects the sub menu from Uboard:


 

Access to Uboard can also be through https://uboard.ugems.id/login/ by using the company’s email username and password (sinarmasmining.com/borneo-indobara.com). Here is what the login page encountered:

After successfully logging in, by default the user will enter the main menu page. The display after successful login as follows:

There are several main parts of the dashboard when entering the main page of the https://uboard.ugems.id/login/ as follows:

  1. Recent is a list of recently opened jobs, be it charts, dashboards, or saved queries.

  2. Dashboard is a list of dashboards that have been created in published and draft status.

  3. Saved Query is a list of list queries that have been created to process data in an existing database or table.

 

What is in the navigation menu ?

In the home menu of UBoard there are 4 menu bars, namely:

1. Dashboard

2. Chart

3. SQL Labs

4. Data

 

Dashboard Menu

Dashboard menu is a list of dashboards that have been created, then on the right side of the icon (+ Dashboard) is used to add a new dashboard.

Charts Menu

Chart menu is a list of list charts that have been created, then on the right side of the icon (+ Chart) is used to add a new chart.

SQL Labs Menu

On the SQL Labs menu, there are 3 options, namely:

  1. SQL Editor

  2. Saved Query

  3. Query History

Data Menu

 

In the data menu there are two options as follows:

  1. Database

  2. Dataset

How do I Upload a Dataset ?

Database


A database is a list of databases that have been shared with a user account so that they can connect to the database according to their respective roles and divisions to carry out data processing.

Dataset

A dataset is a list of datasets that are shared by other users or that have been added individually by uploading data from a local computer or adding data manually from the database.

(+) Menu

The (+) icon will display the data menu, sql query, chart, and dashboard. The function of each menu is the same as the menu bar on the home page on the initial display when we successfully login the web. But in the data menu there are several things that can be done as follows. 

In the data menu, there are options, including:

  1. connect database

  2. upload csv to database

  3. upload columnar file to database

  4. upload excel file to database

The four points above have the same function respectively used to add datasets to the superset with different methods and file types according to needs.

Here is what the excel dataset uploads look like:


 

A star icon indicates that the field must be filled in or completed. The first is the table name, which is naming the dataset which will later be uploaded. Then choose the file to be uploaded from the local computer and finally the table exists there are several options, namely (fail) if you want to upload a new dataset (replace) if you want to update or overwrite an existing dataset and (append) if you want to combine the new dataset with the old one with the same data type.

How do i create Chart ?

Chart menu is a list of list charts that have been created, then on the right side of the icon (+ Chart) is used to add a new chart.

After selecting (+ Chart) a create chart display will appear and must complete the data as follows:

1. Choose dataset, choose the dataset to be used as the source in creating the chart.

2. Choose chart type, choose the type of chart to be visualized.

3. Create new chart, select button to proceed to the next stage in chart creation.

After that the user will enter a new page and will create a chart visualization. In this page users can configure metrics and dimensions and customize the chart display according to their needs. When finished, the user can select save at the top right.

Then the save chart display will appear as follows. After that the user can do the naming chart according to needs then select save at the bottom right of the display.

How to create a dashboard ? 

Dashboard Menu

Dashboard menu is a list of dashboards that have been created, then on the right side of the icon (+ Dashboard) is used to add a new dashboard.

New Dashboard

Then after that the user will enter the following page. On this page users can do dashboard naming as needed. Then on the right side of the display there is a list of charts that have been created previously. To enter the dashboard, users only need to drag and drop into the workspace. After finishing the dashboard can be saved on the save menu on the right side of the top.

How to share and Publish Dashboard ?

Publish Dashboard

 

If you have finished creating the dashboard, then the user can publish on the dashboard by clicking the publication icon at the top. Or if you want to make changes to the dashboard the user can select edit dashboard on the right side of the dashboard.

Share Dashboard

After publication, users can share the dashboard that has been created to other users by selecting the dashboard menu then hovering over the action option then select edit.

After that the user will enter the display as follows. To share the dashboard that has been created to other users, you can add an access list of users to the destination to be shared then select save.

What is SQL Labs ?

SQL Labs Menu

On the SQL Labs menu, there are 3 options, namely:

  1. SQL Editor
  2. Saved Query
  3. Query History

SQL Editor

SQL Editor is used to view table data in tabular form on existing datasets, to see data in tabular form there are several things that must be done, including:

  1. The database is used to choose which database we will connect to see the list of tables in the database.
  2. Schema is where the table is stored in the database.
  3. See Table Schema is a list of tables in a database schema.

Saved Queries

Saved queries is a list of query lists that have been created that are stored in the query list.

Query History

Query history is a list history of SQL Labs queries that we have done all the query data that is done stored in the query history.
